Establishment of University of Tsukuba Kazakhstan Alumni Association

The University of Tsukuba Kazakhstan Alumni Association was established on November 11, 2015 when the first Alumni meeting was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
In this meeting, Prof. Masaki Ono, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and in charge of the Central Asia area, gave a speech about the background of the University of Tsukuba Almaty Office at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. He mentioned that the opening ceremony took place with Dr. Burkitbayev Mukhambetkali Myrzabayevich, First Vice Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Dr. Caroline Benton, the Vice President of the University of Tsukuba, in attendance.
Ms. Kalykova Gulnaz, who was the representative of University of Tsukuba Kazakhstan Alumni Association, reported on her attendance at Tsukuba Global Science Week 2015 in Tsukuba City.
During the event, alumni talked to each other about their studies in Japan, campus life, latest news, etc.
Moreover, the Tsukuba Alumni Network (T-Net) was introduced to the attendees and a Facebook group of this alumni association was also set up. These platforms are expected to further expand this alumni network.
