JAT and UTTAA at Japanese Event in Tunisia

On March 30, 2026, the Ambassador of Japan to Tunisia and the Embassy of Japan hosted a reception to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the Emperor of Japan.
Distinguished guests from various sectors (government, diplomacy, academia, business and sports, …) attended the event.
The Japan Alumni Tunisia (JAT) network including UTTAA members was invited to manage a booth to introduce JAT activities and study opportunities in Japan. The booth attracted many visitors interested in academic programs in Japan and Japanese culture and tourism.
Flyers and brochures from the University of Tsukuba and the Alliance for Research on the Mediterranean and North Africa (ARENA) were distributed. Discussions were also held with visitors on research and collaboration opportunities between Japan and Tunisia. The role of the University of Tsukuba Tunis office and ARENA in strengthening cooperation between the Tunisia and Japan was introduced. Important programs such as SATREPS and the Sakura Science Exchange Program were also briefly presented.
