Japan - North Africa University Summit

On July 10, 2024, prestigious guests, including presidents, rectors, and representatives of universities from Japan, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, and Nigeria, participated in the 4th Japan-North Africa University Summit and the 20th Anniversary of ARENA.
The event took place in Tunisia and was co-organized by the University of Tsukuba and three Tunisian Universities (Ucar, UTM, Uso). It was supported by MHESR, MEXT, Embassy of Japan in Tunisia, JICA, JST, and AMED.
The University of Tsukuba was represented by a significant delegation led by Prof. NAGATA Kyosuke, the President of the University. During their opening remarks, the President of the University of Tsukuba, Ambassador of Japan, and the Minister emphasised on the importance of research and innovation in economic development and the collaboration between Japan and North Africa.
During the session celebrating ARENA's 20th Anniversary, Prof. ISODA Hiroko provided an overview ARENA's main achievements.
The event was highly productive. This could foster potential collaboration and strengthen the relationships between Japanese and North African universities in various research fields.
