Asparagus season in Germany - trip to Beelitz, the "asparagus city".

Spring and early summer is the asparagus season in Gemany! White asparagus, which is being called "vegetable of kings" and "white gold" here, is celebrated here every year from April to June, on numerous festivals and local markets. To honor this tradition, the Berlin Branch of the German Tsukuba Society met on the 2nd of June for a trip to Beelitz, the "asparagus city" famous for its white asparagus. There the alumni participated in the yearly asparagus festival and enjoyed the city view from the top of the Beelitz church. It was a great and very interesting day!
