Spring in Germany is the asparagus season! Trip to Beelitz, the "Asparagus city"

Spring is the asparagus season in Gemany! White asparagus, which is being called "vegetable of kings" and "white gold" here, is celebrated here every year in April and Mai, on numerous festivals and local markets. To honor this tradition, the Berlin Branch of the German Tsukuba Society met on the 27th of May for a trip to Beelitz, the "asparagus city" famous for its white asparagus. There, one can not only try the best asparagus in North Germany, but also actually find huge asparagus made of clay all over in the city! It was a great and very interesting day!
