Rio Medalists visit the University of Tsukuba
2016/10/26
On October 25, Takanori Nagase (Judo 81kg) and Makoto Hirose (Judo 60kg), medalists of the Rio Olympics & Paralympics, respectively, paid a courtesy visit to their alma mater.
While giving their speeches, Mr. Hirose made the audience smile when he said "standing next to Mr. Nagase made me nervous." Though he is retiring from the game, he is now eager to contribute his time and skills to society. Mr. Nagase shared "I was disappointed about losing the quarter final but because of all the supporters cheering for me I could rouse myself again, thus winning the bronze medal". He is now looking ahead to the Tokyo Olympics.
Let us all cheer for our very own athletes playing all over the world!
