University of Tsukuba Students Selected as Finalists to Microsoft's "Imagine Cup 2016"

The "Biomachine Industrial Team", composed of Mr. Koichi Murata (5th year), Mr. Shota Ekuni (5th year), and Mr. Yasunari Asakura (2nd year) from the Ph.D. Program in Empowerment Informatics; as well as Mr. Akira Uehara (2nd year) from the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering, qualified for a slot at the World Finals in Seattle by winning in the Innovation category at the Japan National Finals.

"Imagine Cup" is the world's biggest global student technology program and competition that provides opportunities for students across all disciplines to team up and use their creativity, passion and knowledge of technology to create applications, games and integrate solutions that can change the way we live, work and play.

A send-off party was held for the team last July 15 at the University's Empowerment Studio, which included Microsoft representatives. We all wish for their success at the tournament!
