Tsukuba Academic Year 2022 Starts with Cherry Blossoms!
The year 2022 marks the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Normal School, the roots of the University of Tsukuba. It is also the year in which the University of Tsukuba will make its start as a designated national university. Designated National Universities are chosen by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology as national universities that are expected to develop world-class education and research activities.
To date, 11 of Japan's top national universities, including the University of Tsukuba, have been designated.
We will also focus on our alumni network to create the GLOBAL TRUST that the University of Tsukuba is aiming for.
And the year 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the University of Tsukuba.
Next year, we will commemorate this anniversary, with a celebration for current students and former students alike.
