Filipino students hold “Independence Day” festivities on campus

The Association of Filipino Scholars in Tsukuba (FAST) organized “Bayanihan 2017” on June 10, 2017 to celebrate the 119th Independence Day of the Philippines.
A film screening (“Heneral Luna”), followed by lectures, song numbers, and a poetry reading, was held. An art exhibit was also featured, along with Filipino food.
Four speakers were invited to talk about their views of Filipino nationalism and political issues.

FAST is an organization for Filipino alumni and current students to promote regular interaction among Filipino scholars based in Tsukuba.
