Making wishes the Japanese way - for international students

2017/07/26

Though not a national holiday, July 7 is a unique Japanese festival called "Tanabata" or Star Festival. Were you able to make your own wishes?
International students on campus wrote down their wishes in any language on strips of colored paper as Japanese custom dictates. These strips of paper were then tied onto bamboo branches which decorated the entrance of the University Hall. You might have noticed these decorations in several other public places leading up to "Tanabata" off campus.

May all our wishes come true!
